CASE STUDY

SFUHS DECORATOR SHOWCASE

Every year, the San Francisco University High School holds one of the city’s most extravagant fundraising events, called the Decorator Showcase. They gather the best interior and landscape designers and architects in the Bay Area to revamp a historic home in San Francisco. For the past 42 years, the San Francisco Decorator Showcase has raised over $16 million to benefit the SFUHS financial aid program. This event allows hundreds of deserving Bay Area students access to a world-class college preparatory education.

This designer event had dated branding and wanted a refreshed look for their 40th anniversary. They were referred to me through the volunteer work I do through DIFFA SF (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS). Besides the branding overhaul, I created streamlined digital processes to replace handwritten applications with web responsive forms to automate the designer and sponsor application processes, which was utilized for web updates, print catalog handouts and better internal records.

Being a yearly non-profit fundraising event meant keeping projects within budget and on time. As Project Manager, I reported to stakeholders, the PR agency, and worked with Fine Artists, Interior Designers, and corporate sponsors to achieve our goals.

Each year, we would follow tradition and work with local art students to sketch the chosen home as the centerpiece for the invitation and website design. Although the Showcase asked that we don’t display their in-house applications, here are a list of completed projects, which include, but are not limited to: website design & development for a non-profit, print stationary, gala invitations & reply cards, print catalogs, email and form templates, and form automation.
